  • Integrated Catchment Management Short Course (22 September - 6 October) This 2-week short course combining theoretical and practical components is offered by the University of Adelaide in partnership with the CRC. The course provides students with an understanding of ecological and hydrological processes governing catchment systems, and concepts for the assessment and management of catchment systems.

  • Presentations from our recent POU/POE Workshop are now available for downloading. The workshop discussed the outcomes of a project examining the utility of point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) systems to deliver drinking water quality to rural and remote communities.

  • Our national Seminar series on Improving Risk Management for Water Supplies has begun. The first two seminars were held in Perth and Adelaide. Forthcoming dates are Brisbane (27 May), Sydney (29 May), Melbourne (30 May) and Alice Springs (10 June).
  • Programs are also available for two Workshops on Recycled Water Research in Adelaide (19 May) and Sydney (26 May).

  • Workshops and Seminars  Dates have been announced for two Workshops on Recycled water research and a series of five Seminars on Improving Risk Management for Water Supplies which will highlight the broad portfolio of CRC research outputs over its 13 year lifespan. This will be the final seminar series presented by the CRC for Water Quality and Treatment.

These papers and reports span a range of water quality issues and represent the output from the extensive research program undertaken by the CRC since its formation in 1995.   • Health Stream Newsletter This issue contains articles on a Norwegian study linking illness to repairs and maintenance work on water distribution systems, a systematic review of fluoridation recently released by the Australian National Health and Medical Council, and a large waterborne outbreak in Finland caused by a cross connection between drinking water and sewerage systems.   • Research Report 37  The report Strategic Water Quality Monitoring for Drinking Water Safety is now available.. This report discusses changes in our approach to monitoring strategies for greater public health protection of drinking water.
  • Water Quality Research Australia (Limited) established  The legal entity Water Quality Research Australia Limited (WQRA Limited) was established under Australian Corporations law on Friday 12 October 2007. WQRA Limited is a not-for-profit scientific research institution which will succeed the CRC when it's term of Commonwealth funding ends on 30 June 2008.
